Dear Lovely Reader,
I just wanna tell you…
YOU are the Table!
Yes, you ARE the TABLE.
I’m sure you have heard or been asked this question –
What do you bring to the table? Whether it be for a job, relationship or community group we are always encountering situations and people who want to know what can we add to make something better.
Today I am telling you, that you are the table! The flat top and the legs. You are the whole package 😊
Now, I’m not saying this is how you should answer the question (especially in an interview!) and this post is not related to financial provision etc.
Today’s piece of encouragement is centred on the importance of having a solid inner belief in who you are and what you offer to the world.
My thought of – “YOU ARE THE TABLE” came from a verse that has been popping into my mind recently.
“For such a person ought not to think or expect that he will receive anything [at all] from the Lord, being a
double-minded man, unstable and restless in all his ways [in everything he thinks, feels, or decides].” – James 1:7-8
We are really not trying to be the strikethrough words this year!
If we really ponder on this piece of scripture, we see that it is true. Have you ever achieved anything being unstable, double-minded or restless? I certainly haven’t.
When you are out of focus you are not operating in faith. We need to remember without faith it is impossible to please God.
So let us remember to BELIEVE IN His character and promises and ourselves!
Have you noticed ‘table’ when you knock of the ‘s’ in stable?!
A table should be firmly fixed, steady, solid and well- built. There is nothing worse than a wobbly table or when a screw is out of place. And this is the same with us. We have moments of unsteadiness, but what do you turn to straighten your mind and steady your spiralling emotions?
Turn to God and believe what He says about you.
A table’s purpose is to provide a level surface for eating, writing, working etc. We too have purpose in this world and provide that through our talents and character.
Tables are essential and multipurpose – just like you 😉
Let’s remember to stand firm by growing, learning and believing in ourselves.
CHOOSE to be single-minded in your passions and goals,
BE BOLD to create stability in instability
REMAIN calm in chaos
