MAGNIFIED – June 2024 Word of The Month

Happy June Lovely Reader,

We have made it to the midway point of the year. Can you believe it! I feel so blessed because God has kept us. In everything and everyday God Almighty has kept us.

This month is all about one word – MAGNIFIED

What did you think about as soon as you read this word? I saw a picture of a magnifying glass which helps us to see something small much bigger. Or perhaps you may have thought of a telescope that is used to see far-away objects in the night sky.

One thing these objects have in common is a specially created glass lens. Without the glass lens – we could miss out fine details (whether bad or good) and the ability to see farther.

In our journey with God on this earth, I believe our ‘glass lens’ is the word of God.

Psalm 119:105 says, “Your word is a lamp unto my feet and a light to my path”.  This is one of the best ways to know God and His ways.

We don’t magnify God because He is small and needs to be made greater. He is already great because He is the ‘I AM THAT I AM

What other ‘god’ calls themselves by this name,

what other ‘god’ sings over us, what other ‘god’ set the entire universe into motion, what other ‘god’ tells us that we are the apple of His eye and hears each of us and holds us in the palm of His hands?  The answer is none. There is no other like Him.

We are called to magnify God because He is great and our creator.

Let’s go through some ways we magnify God:

1. Deep relationship with God & meditating on the Word

When we grow in studying the word and in relationship with God, we start to view our lives and situations from the Bible lens.

In the tiny details of life, GOD IS MAGNIFIED as we see His handiwork and the delicate piecing of everything to produce mighty outcomes.

In huge obstacles, GOD IS MAGNIFIED as we see that He is greater than anything we could ever face and in control.

We start to see God in everything and want Him to be the centre of everything.

2. Worship & Praise

From a sincere heart, in Spirit and in truth worship and praise is powerful.

I will bless the Lord at all times;
His praise shall continually be in my mouth.

My soul shall make its boast in the Lord;
The humble shall hear of it and be glad.

Oh, magnify the Lord with me,
And let us exalt His name together.

-Psalm 34:1-3

Offering worship and praise shows everyone around you (including your enemies) who you put your trust in! Also, praise is a powerful weapon that leads to breakthrough – find out why!

3. Exalt God in the work of your hands and blessings

There are many figures in the Bible that magnified God at the point of receiving blessings and in their calling. These people thanked God and made others around them aware of who God is.

When we magnify God, He will magnify us.

  • Mary, the mother of Jesus: Mary praised God in her song and said “from now on all generations will call me blessed” (Luke 1:48). This is true till today!
  • John The Baptist: some of John’s followers were questioning why people went to Jesus to be baptized instead of going to John. John made it clear to his followers that he was sent ahead of Jesus to prepare the way and that “He [Jesus] must increase, but I must decrease” (John 3:30).
  • Hannah: after being mocked for being childless, God blessed Hannah with Samuel and prayed

“My heart rejoices in the Lord;

My horn is exalted in the Lord.

I smile at my enemies,

Because I rejoice in Your salvation

-1 Samuel 2:1

These are just a few people however they are points of reference to what God can do with your life, reputation and legacy when you magnify Him first!

Be MAGNIFIED O Lord, You are Highly exalted. There is nothing You can’t do, my eyes are on You. O Lord, be MAGNIFIED!

Thank you for reading, I appreciate you 😊. Don’t forget to share!

Peace and every good blessing be yours in Jesus Name. Amen.
