Dear Lovely Reader,
I hope you are well.
As we draw close to the end of this month, I want to share an insight God has revealed to me.
Given the chaos we’ve all seen over the past few months, opinions of all sorts flying back and forth on social media platforms, I’ve noticed how people are so violent with the words. People react with emotions but not facts, people, communities, nations rising against each other. We can’t handle basic truths, we are easily offended and most us think disagreement with an opinion means hate. We preach about love, justice, peace but I mostly do not see love.
We are living in challenging times and the start to this new decade has proved we are in the last days. Jesus Christ is coming back soon. The love of many has grown cold (Mathew 24:12) and what is evil is celebrated and what is good is rejected.
I believe this verse is essential for the world right now.
“Come back to your senses as you ought, and stop sinning, for there are some who are ignorant of God – I say this to your shame” – 1 Corinthians 15:34.
The word of God has been removed and is frowned upon in the public sphere – in this past decade people have become so ignorant of God. Every problem we could ever face, every issue in this world will find its resolutions in the word of God – the Bible.
Coming back to our senses is essentially returning to the word of God – the place of true wisdom as “since we have rejected the word of the Lord, what kind of wisdom do we have?” – Jeremiah 8:9. Sin is the problem on earth. We find it hard to fathom how people now and centuries past can commit evil atrocities. It is a heart issue. We live in a fallen world.
The world doesn’t understand love, even Christians sometimes don’t truly dwell in and show the love of God. We all know the commandment to ‘love your neighbour as yourself’ but many of us forget what commandment comes before – the first and greatest commandment – “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind” – Mathew 22:37. How can we love others including enemies if we don’t love and know our creator. The more you spend time in God’s word and presence, He will reveal his nature to you and you will start to develop the ability to love others with a godly pure love, seek truth and yearn for justice. This is practically what the world is searching for now.
God is the answer, Jesus Christ is the answer, and the Holy Spirit is the answer.
Thank you for reading to all the way here, I encourage you in this moment to invite Jesus Christ – the son of God into your heart. We are living in troubling times and I don’t know what you’re going through personally but God does. God is a provider, comforter, protector, healer and peace-giver. Nothing in this world will measure up to having a relationship with God – He carries us through the valleys and hills of life.
Jesus died for you so that you can live forever, He is after your heart and wants to make you new. You have nothing to lose. Open up your heart to Jesus and turn away from your sinful past (all humans including myself have all sinned and we are saved from the penalty of sin (death) by the grace of God), mistakes, regrets and insecurities by saying aloud this prayer, believing in every word with all your heart.
Lord Jesus, for too long I’ve kept you out of my life. I know that I am a sinner and that I cannot save myself. No longer will I close the door when I hear you knocking. By faith I gratefully receive your gift of salvation. I am ready to trust you as my Lord and Saviour. Thank you, Lord Jesus, for coming to earth. I believe you are the Son of God who died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead on the third day. Thank you for bearing my sins and giving me the gift of eternal life. I believe your words are true. Come into my heart, Lord Jesus, and be my Saviour. Amen.
Once you do, ask God with a sincere believing heart to reveal Himself to you and He will do 🙂 If you said this prayer and/or have any questions, please do not hesitate to send your message to me – saytheword38@gmail.com
Peace and every good blessing be yours in Jesus Name. Amen.
