April 2021 Word of The Month – Rolling In Faith

Dear Lovely Reader,

Happy April, I hope this month will be filled with an overflow of blessings in your life!

Today I want to share with you a simple note of encouragement.

This morning I remember praying aloud – “Lord help me to keep rolling in faith”. Afterwards I was thinking hmmm – that’s not really a phrase I’ve heard before. This thought has led me to an interesting take on going through the motions of life that I’d love to share with you!

A simple definition of rolling thanks to Oxford Languages is: moving by turning over and over on an axis. I guess some could say we all roll through life (not literally!), I mean we’re already 1/3 way into the year and as days pass by we’re getting older. Back to my physic days at school, I remember learning the earth spins on an axis – which is not a perfectly straight line. So, the tilt in the axis affects the earth’s exposure to the sun. That’s why we have different seasons!

Our individual lives/worlds are the earth and the axis is the path we take. So just as we go through the different seasons of life, we also see and know the pathway will not be completely vertical. There will be bends, slopes, different angles, twists and turns but life will still go on.

Sometimes when we face difficulty, we can think that our life is over and we can stop and even limit our own potential. Never do that! In sunny seasons, we tend to relax and think we’re on top of the world, nothing can touch us and even become idle. Even when we’re on top, we should never become complacent, because there is always more and more to achieve as a child of God. Plus, with every sunrise, there is a sunset and vice versa.

Life is unpredictable which can make it exciting but scary at the same time. However, with God we know that WE SHOULD NOT FRET because every circumstance will work together for our good. Our axis (pathway) in life can only be maintained with and by faith. That is faith built through the everchanging seasons which grants us one of the greatest character gifts – perseverance. With perseverance we can never fail no matter if our personal worlds are spinning out of control.

We should continue to live in confidence knowing ‘the righteousness (His justice, goodness and holiness) of God is revealed from faith to faith’ – Romans 1:17. God is forever faithful and He just wants us to trust Him and His word. Without faith, it is impossible to please Him (Hebrews 11:6).

That’s why we always see ‘the just shall live by faith’, so keep rolling in faith!

Thanks for reading! 🙂

Peace and every good blessing be yours in Jesus Name. Amen.
