How is your hope today? Are you feeling hopeful?
I love to be optimistic and encourage others and myself but it’s not always easy when you feel like you’re clutching onto straw ends waiting on breakthrough, a change or the promises of God over your life.
The funny thing is that days of feeling unhopeful is a clear sign your hope is from God.
Just as you’re about to spiral into depression or anxiety from negative feelings – you suddenly feel an urge to break free from negativity. The power of the Holy Spirit is willing you to look past what you see and ignite your faith and hope through action.
Let’s chat about the signs that your hope is from God:
Sign 1: You have no/limited resources to step into the blessing
Perhaps you don’t have enough funds to start your business idea or you don’t have the connections to break into an industry for your next career move. You may not have a bachelors university degree to think about your dream to become a PhD holder.
These examples may not relate to you personally, but you know your own example.
There are impossibilities present and this is a key intentional way for God to crush the stumbling blocks by His power alone.
Perhaps your power is limited, that’s because God wants to get the glory for your story. We have to do what we can and let God do the rest.
God will fulfil His Word:
But Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” – Matthew 19:26
*Remember Gideon and the army of 300 which crushed the Midianites
*Remember David’s sling and 5 stones which killed Goliath
Sign 2: People around you may think you’re crazy
Yep, and a lot of times it will be friends and family.
Have you/are you are making decisions and plans that do not make sense and go against the natural order. That’s when you step into the supernatural and into true faith which pleases God.
You are blazing a trail on your own and its hard. You may even feel lonely as God is drawing you to Himself and causing you to block out the voice of humans. Remember you don’t have to feel lonely as you need to constantly remember and believe the God of the universe is with you.
*Remember Noah and the Ark. When it started to rain, those around him sure weren’t mocking him!
Sign 3: Finding constant confirmation of your hope in His word alone
This is a perfect follow-up from sign 2. I just wanna note that’s it is important to move with discernment, the opinions of those around you may not all be bad. There is safety in a multitude of counsellors!
However, when we pursue a deeper relationship with God consistently His ways and voice will become clearer and more important to us.
God will impress desires on your heart, you’ll see signs and have dreams of things relating to your hope. On top of this all – your hope will be backed up by scripture in the Bible.
I’ll share a personal example of this. There was a day I was feeling so dejected after looking into opportunities and none of them seemed to interest me or spark excitement. I started to think that what I was hoping for would never happen ☹ BUT GOD!
In the evening of that day, I kid you not – I opened up my Bible with my finger placed on this scripture:
Return to the stronghold,
You prisoners of hope.
Even today I declare
That I will restore double to you.
-Zechariah 9:12
When I tell you, the weight of heaviness that lifted off my heart – This was my first time seeing this scripture. A precious moment that I won’t forget and I can’t wait to share the full testimony of this one day!
